Delaware Eligibility:
1. Are you a resident of Delaware? Residents are individuals with a Delaware drivers license or a DE state issued ID?
Yes, I am a resident. You are eligible to apply for a Delaware Resident CCDW Permit.
No, I am not a resident. You can take the course, but will not be able to apply for a Delaware CCDW Permit. Delaware does not issue Non-Resident permits.
If you are not a resident of Delaware, this course is acceptable for you to apply for a Florida Non-Resident permit, which will currently allow you to carry in Delaware.
2. Are you military living in Delaware?
Yes, the Delaware Department of Justice will allow active duty military members apply for a DE CCDW even if they do not have a DE drivers license.
3. Do any of the below apply to you? If so, you are not eligible to apply for a DE CCDW permit.
The following persons are prohibited from possessing deadly weapons or ammunition in Delaware:

- any person previously convicted of any felony
- any person previously convicted of any misdemeanor involving physical injury to another or domestic violence, unless more than 5 years has elapsed from the date of the conviction
- any person previously convicted of any crime involving the unlawful use, possession or sale of any illegal drug
- any person who has not yet reached his or her 25th birthday who has been previously convicted as a juvenile of a crime which, if committed by an adult, would constitute a felony
- any person who is subject to a Protection From Abuse Order issued
- These include anyone who: Has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding 1 year;
- Is a fugitive from justice;
- Is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance;
- Has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to a mental institution;
- Is an alien illegally or unlawfully in the United States or an alien admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa;
- Has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;
- Having been a citizen of the United States, has renounced his or her citizenship;
- Is subject to a court order that restrains the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of such intimate partner;
- Has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence Cannot lawfully receive, possess, ship, or transport a firearm.
